Cheltenham Town will aim to end a damaging three-game losing run in League Two when they host Fleetwood Town at Whaddon Road on Tuesday night. The Robins, currently eighth with 15 points from 11 games, were thrashed 4-1 at Oldham Athletic last time out.

Manager Steve Cotterill acknowledged his side's second-half improvement in that defeat. "Steve Cotterill’s side improved after the break and created chances to narrow the deficit, but Oldham added a fourth late on," he said. That result extended a concerning league sequence of three straight losses, following defeats to Salford City and Accrington Stanley.

Their last victory came against Chesterfield in late September, and their recent form of one win, one draw and three losses has seen them slip seven points behind leaders Salford City. The team has conceded 20 goals this season, a defensive frailty they will need to address against a Fleetwood side arriving with momentum.

Fleetwood Town, sitting 12th with 14 points, ended a five-match wait for a league win by beating Rotherham United 2-0 last weekend. Manager Matt Lawlor highlighted the importance of that result. "Matt Lawlor’s side controlled much of the contest, kept a clean sheet and ended a five-match wait for a league win," he said. The Cod Army have scored 12 goals this term, five fewer than Cheltenham's 17.

Recent encounters

The recent history between the sides is mixed. The last meeting in March ended in a 2-2 draw at Fleetwood's Highbury Stadium. Cheltenham won the previous home fixture 2-0 in October 2025, but lost 2-0 away in February 2025.

Cheltenham's last starting lineup, a 4-2-3-1 against Oldham, featured Stanway in goal with a defence of McWilliams, Wilson, Sweeney and Nurse. The midfield was anchored by McCann and Freddie Willcox, who scored their consolation goal just before half-time. The attack was led by Weimann, supported by Evans, George Miller and Jordan Shipley.

Fleetwood's last outing saw them deploy a 3-1-4-2 formation, with Lynch in goal protected by a back three of Shaun Rooney, Bennett and Potter. Neal anchored the midfield ahead of them.

With both teams separated by just one point and one place in the table, Tuesday's clash represents a significant opportunity for Cheltenham to stabilise their season. The match kicks off at 19:45 at Whaddon Road.
