Why it matters for Cheltenham
Thomas, who is from the Forest of Dean, progressed through Cheltenham's academy before making his debut at the age of 16 in an FA Trophy tie against Chelmsford City. He left the Robins to join Derby County in January 2016 after spending time on trial with Benfica.
