Cheltenham Town manager Steve Cotterill has been charged by the Football Association following his dismissal in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Grimsby Town. Cotterill is alleged to have acted in an improper manner during the League Two fixture at Whaddon Road.
Cotterill confirmed he remains available for this Saturday's match away to Crawley Town. "I'm free to take my place in the dugout at Crawley Town on Saturday," the manager said. The 12.30pm kick-off at Broadfield Stadium will proceed with Cotterill on the touchline.
The FA charge relates to the incident that saw Cotterill and Grimsby's first team coach analyst, Ray Shearwood, both sent off. The governing body alleges both individuals failed to behave properly. Also, both Cheltenham Town and Grimsby Town as clubs have been charged for failing to ensure their players and technical area occupants conducted themselves in an orderly fashion after the final whistle.
Cheltenham have until Monday, September 14 to submit their formal response to the charge. The club currently sits eighth in the League Two table with eight points from their opening five matches of the 2026/27 season. Their recent form reads DWDLW, with 10 goals scored and nine conceded.
