Potential Absence of Glatzel and Hungbo
Swindon Town may miss attacking duo Paul Glatzel and Joseph Hungbo for their first home game of the season against Cheltenham Town. Glatzel’s hamstring injury and Hungbo’s thigh setback could rule them out of the match at the Nigel Eady County Ground on Saturday.
Glatzel’s Hamstring Issue
Glatzel was left out of the trip to Northampton Town last week after a hamstring seized up during training the day before the game. The decision was precautionary; he has not been able to train this week and is expected to return for Oldham but not before Saturday.
Hungbo’s Thigh Setback
Hungbo, on loan from Wigan Athletic, had been working back to fitness after missing Wigan’s friendlies. He felt his thigh this week, did not finish training on Tuesday, and was absent on Wednesday. He will train on Thursday to gauge readiness, but it is now unlikely he will be ready for the start.
Swindon’s Attack Options
With Glatzel and Hungbo doubtful, manager Ian Holloway said the duo will probably not play this Saturday, possibly next Saturday. Ben Middlemas played out of position on the left during the Northampton trip, and Aaron Drinan and Louis Millard were also used. Jaylan Pearman, who joined the squad only the morning of the game, has spent a full week in training and could feature. Ollie Palmer may also be considered, but Swindon are managing his minutes after illness and a minor calf problem.
